Summary:
The Greylag Goose is the largest and most common of the wild geese of the British Isles. It is more brown than grey in colour, with a white rump. Its legs are pink and its bill is orange.
Ecology:
Breeding limited mainly to northern areas only. Feeds on grass and root material.
Habitat:
Wetland, estuaries.
Distribution:
Locally common resident and winter visitor to wetlands in the east and north west of England, and in the north coast of Scotland and Anglesey. Winter visitor to Ireland.
